FAQS
HOW CAN I SCHEDULE AND DO YOU HAVE A WAITING LIST?
You can request an appointment by clicking on the REQUEST APPOINTMENT button at the upper right hand corner of the website. I am a solo practice and do my own scheduling therefore I have limited time for phone calls. In general, I have a 2-3 week wait for evaluations depending on the time of year. Each evaluation requires a signed evaluation policy and deposit within 7 days of scheduling the evaluation. Once this is received, I will review records and forms. Required forms are found in the patient portal that is created for you and access is granted via email.
DO YOU TAKE INSURANCE?
As of April 1, 2023, I no longer accept insurance for new patients and I am considered an “Out of Network “ provider. I do give each client a receipt (superbill) each session to submit but it is the patient’s responsibility to know what their plan covers, and what procedures need to be followed. Please be aware that some companies require a script, or a pre-authorization prior to services. I am happy to fill out forms if needed; however, I must ask that the patient provide all the required paperwork. NOTE: In accordance with Colorado State Law , I must inform you that may be covered in network at a lesser rate and have every right to pursue finding a provider who accepts your insurance. For assistance with private insurance reimbursement, I have partnered with Reimbursify to assist you with checking benefit status and filing claims with your insurance company to get reimbursement from your private insurance company for services provided to you by Bloom Therapy Resources, LLC.
WHAT DOES "OUT OF NETWORK" MEAN?
This means that I do not participate with insurances as an “in network” provider. I collect fees at the time of the session, and it is the patient’s responsibility to mail/fax/electronically submit the invoices to the insurance. Your insurance may or may not allow you to be reimbursed for services outside your provider network. HMO and Medicaid do not reimburse for out of network providers, but PPO’s do if speech is covered and medically necessary.
WHAT ARE YOUR HOURS OF OPERATION?
Bloom Therapy Resources is available on Mondays by special request appointments from 8:00 AM - 12:30 PM, and for regularly scheduled appointments on Tuesday – Friday from 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM.
WHAT SERVICES DO YOU PROVIDE?
I specialize in oral motor, feeding, Oral Placement, PROMPT, Tethered Oral Tissues (TOTs/ tongue tie), orofacial myofunctional, Beckman Oral Motor and articulation therapies. I treat children with low tone, CP, Down syndrome, Orofacial Myofunctional Disorders, tongue-tie, facial palsy, Childhood Apraxia of Speech, Autism Spectrum disorder, and a variety of diagnoses that inhibit expressive language and clear articulation due to poor oral motor planning and/or execution . If you need a referral for other speech/language services, I suggest The Shandy Clinic, The Resource Exchange (TRE), Child Development Center of Colorado Springs, or Children's Hospital of Colorado. For more on my services, please see the Services page.
HOW CAN I PAY FOR SERVICES?
Bloom Therapy Resources accepts all major credit cards, debit cards (HSA funds), check, cash, or money orders. Payment is expected at time of service for all clients.
DO I HAVE TO DO AN EVALUATION OR CAN WE JUST BEGIN THERAPY?
An evaluation allows a speech therapist the opportunity to assess you or your child’s current level of functioning and overall development. This assessment may include a standardized test, observation through play, medical history information, and/or parent/patient report. In most cases, it includes all four. Through the evaluation, it will be determined if treatment is necessary. Treatment at Bloom Therapy Resources cannot be initiated unless an evaluation has been completed for each new patient without exception unless you have had a full orofacial myofunctional/feeding evaluation with either a TalkTools® advanced level therapist or a Certified Orofacial Myologist® within 12 weeks of scheduling. Insurances often request medical necessity so without a report you may be denied services. A clinical baseline is critical to designing a treatment plan.
WHAT ARE YOUR FEES?
Evaluation and therapy fees are determined by age/diagnosis and length of appointment and will be discussed at the time of booking.
DO YOU OFFER SCREENINGS?
I no longer provide screenings to potential clients. Like most medical appointments , a provider cannot provide medical advice without an evaluation. Therefore it is important to maintain the intergrity of the evaluation by following a tried and true protocol. Appointments are scheduled and as a part of the evaluation process, a virtual interview is conducted after the office receives the evaluation deposit, paperwork and all required information to conduct the evaluation. If you would like to learn about Tania's credentials please see the "About Me" page.
HOW LONG DOES THERAPY TYPICALLY LAST?
This is typically determined by:
1. cooperation in therapy
2. attendance
3. carryover in the home
4. cognitive status
5. diagnosis
6. severity of the presenting problem.
There is no ethical way to predict how long therapy will take or how many sessions are required. I do not offer packaged services or programs, but rather individualized care.
I AM READY TO SCHEDULE. WHAT IS THE NEXT STEP?
You can request an appointment by clicking on the REQUEST APPOINTMENT button at the upper right hand corner of the website. I will contact you to confirm dates, times, and fees. If you do not hear from me in 2 business days please email me directly at taniarife@bloomtherapyresources.com
DO YOU INVOLVE PARENTS IN THE TREATMENT PROCESS?
Yes. Parents are a very important part of treatment at Bloom Therapy Resources. Parents are invited into the treatment session to observe therapy, and parent education is an integral part of every therapy session. Each session is designed to allow time for the parent and therapist to discuss progress and what was done during the therapy session. Home programs are provided to the parent to increase carryover in all settings and help the child be more successful in reaching their goals.
HOW CAN I RECEIVE A COPY OF YOUR PRIVACY PRACTICES?
You can obtain a paper copy of my privacy practices by request from your therapist or you can download our Notice of Privacy Practices here.
